More whine than a french vinyard ... - The Paranoid Android

More whine than a french vinyard ...
I haven't updated in an *age* .... and it's not for a lack of things happening in my life! - more the opposite really.

Work is getting me down. The new GL is in and working, the new Rec's system is in and working, so why am I spending so much time doing silly little jobs in relation to these two systems? ... Perhaps because the end users are too damned lazy to adjust to something new, or too picky, or just plain awkward!

I'm sure the people in power at work have made it their personal duty to make as many of us miserable as possible.

Misty and I have been discussing marriage ... specifically *our* marriage. Any plans I had for eloping are dead and buried now! I'll post more on the topic in due time.

A long time ago, I spent about a month trying to get my mood and music customised. Back then I was told it couldn't be done (and using normal methods, this is still true!) Then there was a support request asking for some strange pluralisation in the comments links .... (1needs..., 2 need ....) so the s was only needed if the number of comments was 1 .... this is the exact opposite of the what the plurals are currently set up. decklin came up with the idea of using the css property display:none ... with some cleverly named classes, and ... to coin a phrase ... Robert is your fathers brother.

This got me thinking ... my comments links have always annoyed me because it isn't very good english to say "one have spoken". So using the same technique as decklin described I managed to change my comments links to "1 (person) has spoken" vs "Many (people) have spoken" ...

This too got me thinking back to my age old gripe that I couldn't change the mood/music descriptions. Playing with the css classes, I have managed to get mood to say feeling and music to say hearing ...

It's a triumph over machine! ....

I'm such a geek!

Douglas Adams was a god! ... and Marvin is my favourite character ...
I just hope the rumours of a film are not *just* rumours!

Dude... you know who Die Artze are???? *awed whisper*

My old boyfriend from Germany introduced me to them some years ago, and while their lyrics are bizarre and amusingly left winged... they're great fun to listen to... but I haven't found anyone except him that knew of them/........

A german friend put me on to them ... I just love their raw energy and style. If only my german was a little better I might understand them!! The smurph song (Schlümpfe) amuses me no end ....
