Misty's at class, so I have a little time to update here. The flight… - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
Misty's at class, so I have a little time to update here.

The flight was ok, a nice new 777 with little TV's in the seat backs and a choice of 4 films! The added security is a bit mad. At one point they were going to refuse to let me take my safety razors!... I mean - FFS - *SAFETY RAZORS*??? I have a hard job getting them to cut me (thankfully)!
I was sat next to a woman who wouldn't stop talking all the way here. I was more than happy to engage her in conversation while the films were not on, but during the films??
I made the stupid mistake of telling her this wasn't my first flight, so she was asking me all kinds of questions, from "when do we eat" to how far is the baggage reclaim at RDU. Apart from that it was a good flight.

The security at RDU has been increased as well ... for people coming *OFF* the plane too :-/ I was all but strip searched! They've turned the sensitivity of the metal detectors up so much it even registered the loops in my trainers!

I arrived about an hour late, and Misty arrived on time :( .... always the way isn't it? We drive to the hotel (I forgot to bring the printed directions, and Misty still thought we was staying at another hotel we'd found (:-/) but it wasn't quite that bad, because this was the same hotel we stayed at in May. But I do have to post this ...
On the way there *I* ... thats the *guy* ... said we should stop, phone ahead for directions, and *Misty* ... thats the *gurl* ... said No, No, I will find it! So who says men don't ask for directions!!!
Misty did find the hotel as it was, we remembered there was a down ramp, rather than an up ramp, and Misty remembered what road we turned off at, so we (ok, *Misty*) found it no problems.

I think the receptionist though we had booked two rooms, but we convinced her that we do get along, and don't fight that bad ! :)

Sunday we traveled to Misty's dad's place, then on to the her dad's parent's, then on to a school fate, where there were (shock) children by the dozens. As is typical in these situations, at least one child finds it necessary to come over to *me* and has to sit on me, play with me, whatever. I was sat on a swing, Misty was sat on the swing beside me, and I think it's Misty's Cousin, Dreighton, he was sat on her lap. He got down from her lap, and walked in front of me (luckily I wasn't swinging fast) and asked to be picked up. (shakes head) As it was - he's a good kid, and I survived the whole experience without too much trauma!

We stayed at Misty's dad's Sunday night. Monday Misty had an appointment with the dentist. We visited Greensboro town centre, and the place where her dad works. We had dinner with the neighbours (Brandon and Julie) in a sports bar that showed people loosing limbs in sport!!! Just what you want while you are eating!!

After the meal, we set off for Misty's apt, me trying very hard not to fall asleep (a big meal and a long drive always does that for me). I think I made it to the Wilmington city limit before I finally succumbed! I had been dropping off for about an hour before that, I was fighting it well!

In more general news, I think i might have to cut my leg off. I dont know what the hell I've done to it, but since last monday (not yesterday, the monday before that) it's been aching, usually a dull kinda ache, one I can cope with. It's been getting worse. Last night it actually woke me up twice, it was that bad. When I get back home I will have to go to the doctors to have him check it out.

Also - I think I'm finally on EST. I managed to stay awake till about 9 on Sunday, and I woke up at 2 in the morning!! ... not just a casual woke up either, a full *WIDE* awake kinda woke up.
Yesterday I stayed up till midnight, although I fell asleep watching the telly. I woke up about 7:00, but it was my usual wake up, go back to sleep kinda thing. Even though I woke up at 2:00 last night, and 4:00, and about 6:00 ... it wasn't the wide awake kind, it was just the pain in the leg kind. :(

I'm gonna go take a shower now, Misty'll be back in about half an hour.

Current Mood: awake awake

Poor thing!! I hope your leg gets better!!!

I'm glad your here, but I want to give you lots of warning...*winces* I forgot your aversion to kids...there will be about 8 of them under the age of ten at the wedding. I'm sorry! There will be a pool table and a dart board in another room, tho, if that helps?
