Bloody bloatware
This was the post i tried to get here on Friday - and failed.

I have been working all day and got very little done. I did play pool for an hour this lunchtime, and manage to have a quick drink (of water) in the Moon. Our Network admininstrator has been asking eeryone to delete files they didn't need anymore from the network, because we are running out of volume space. I pointed out to him the reason we are running out of space is our recent move from Lotus 1-2-3 to Excel. Apart from the fact people now have 2 versions of each file (one in 1-2-3, one in excel) the excel versions are an average of 4 times the size. Miscrosoft and their bloatware. So I set the compress routine running on the network drives. By 4 o'clock friday afternoon we had 4Gig free disk space, and only half of the directories had been compressed. Why is it left to me as an end user to point this out to the people who (suposedly) run our network that you can compress files? I think i need a pay rise ....
