Ticket to Ryde - The Paranoid Android

Ticket to Ryde
I have been too busy to update... so here is a list of "things that have happened:"

Weekend 12/09: Bestival. I saw lots of bands I liked and "slept" in a tent for 3 nights. It took about 5 hours to get there and 12 hours to get home. My tent rawks.

I got a V+ box. I can pause live TV or record two of the 129,648* channels whilst I watch a third. Because I am a fabulous customer I got the upgrade for no extra charge.

I bought Beatles Rock Band. I'm not to shabby on the "drums." My singing leaves much to be desired.

Lena popped over on Friday for Chinese food and a film.

I had an eye test last weekend to see if I can get my eyes fixed (I can!) They put drops in my eyes that stopped me from being able to focus. It was scary! They also put orange dye in my eyes. This was scary for other people. There was a late cancelation so I will get my eyes fixed in two weeks time. I think I am a little scared.

I had an excellent evening out with Jim. We saw Dorian Grey.

I am going to Norway on Thursday.

Looks like I'm going to Norway next month, Ric is coming over here to visit me first though :)

I hope you have better weather than we are going to have. The forecast for Oslo and Bergen is pretty wet for the 4 days we will be there! :(

Trondheim is a stunning city, love it<3 and yeah I'll be there for a minimum of 2 weeks :D so I think it'll have its good and bad days. It tends to be sunny though, but fall means the occasional shower there too. I've never been there in Sep/Oct though, only Nov-Dec and May-Aug.

Oslo was beautiful... the weather was perfect.

Bergen was covered in a permanent mist and it rained non stop. It was a shame because the little I saw of it was quite beautiful too.

Both were amongst the most expensive places I have ever been! £8 for a beer is even more expensive than where I work!

Yeah that's what I came to learn: go to Norway, and everything is virtually double the price. At least compared to Finland. Even in the smaller places, not to mention the biggest cities like Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim. Whenever I was there Ric had to pay some of my expenses because my regular budget couldn't afford it, oh well I was practically living there because of travel expenses and the time it takes to get from here to there.

You are very brave to go through the eyeball surgery. I'm way to squrmish about my eyes. And there's no way I could be awake to watch that laser slice off the top of my eyeballs and then poke and prod them like an alien abduction. But I'm sure you'll be fine:p

I am a little apprehensive... but the benefits will be worth it!

With the new "Intralase/Wavefront" procedure they say the chances of anything bad happening are really small now. I'll have to wait and find out! :o

I am not usually squeamish - but the fact I will be conscious all through the procedure is a little icky!
