I'll never drink again - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
I'll never drink again
... until the next time was how I ended my previous post on Friday at half past five in the evening... so how could it be that barely two hours later I was in the Rack?

I was convinced (but I can't remember by who) to join a few of my work colleagues for "one" after work. When I got there I was bought a drink (and you have to get one back don't you?) and then another and then it was too late and I was enjoying myself too much to leave. We played on a quiz machine, and lost a lot of money... mostly due to KC's dodgy aim!

Saturday Misty called and we got XP-SP2 onto the laptop, then upgraded iTunes and finally got the Elbow album to play on Misty's iPod. Between downloads we chatted for almost 4 hours. It was good to catch up.

The rest of Saturday was spent in front of the goggle-box (with brief gaps to put laundry in and eat). The 300 Spartans was on the film guide... and as I didn't realise 300 was a remake I thought I'd see what it was like. Overall the story is the same, and as expected the effects are not quite as good as the modern version (film effects have come a long way in 44 years!), and there wasn't the homo erotica feel about it the modern version has... mostly because that just wouldn't have happened in 1962!

I watched Zodiac for a penny. I like a good whodunit and the fact it was based on a true story makes it all the more chilling.

I then channel hopped until I fell asleep on the sofa. (I think the last thing I saw before I drifted off was RoboCop 3 - which just isn't good enough by far to keep anyone awake! I woke up cold an hour or so later and headed up to bed.

Sunday I was at the 'rents for dinner, discussion, educational DVDs and cheese on toast. All in all a damn good weekend.
