Comment on this post asking and I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them.

Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along. My 7 things were chosen by beckwah and another 7 6 were chosen by teya_uk

There was a guy who used to regularly turn up to karaoke who we believed to be dyslexic (and couldn't read the words on the screen) and would murmur along to Neil Diamond songs in a sort of noonie noo kinda way.  There is an MP3 of the wonder that is Noonie-Noo floating around the Internet somewhere... and I'm sure I have a copy on disk at home.  People like him and "Lisa the Raver" are what made karaoke so much fun.

cake or death
Cake or death is the Church of England's equivalent of the Spanish Inquisition... according to an Eddie Izzard sketch... which has been immortalized in Lego.  Eddie Izzard is a comic genius... most probably my favourite comedian.

Who doesn't like flirting?  I consider flirting a sport - and will flirt with just about anyone.  It's all about making the other person feel good about themselves, so you have to keep it realistic... but you also have to make it obvious that you are flirting - and it's not some kind of sleazy come-on.  A sport of words!

warm beer
I'm passionate about my beers.  I am pained that the majority of pubs in the UK only serve super-chilled (European if you're lucky) gnats piss.  The reason they serve them so cold is because they taste like crap at room temperature!  A real beer tastes good at room temperature (or "warm" as an Aussie friend of mine once commented).

little gay brandon
"LGB" is scarletdemon's youngest son... and in a post a long long time ago she asked us to also add this as an interest.  There's another post where you can find out a little more about LGB.

lemon scented stuff
What can I say - I love the smell of lemon (and most other citrus smells)!  Misty once sent me a "care package" full of citrus smelling candles and shower gels and the likes - and for a while I was the most metro-sexual bather on the planet (yes - I bathed with candles lighting the room!)

people watching
Another of my favourite past-times (along with flirting) is watching people go about their day to day lives.  I like to watch body language - trying to work out the relationship between people, whether it's two sided or not.  Sitting in a café with a book and a nice cup of coffee... I can spend hours watching people go by.

dirk gently
Dirk Gently is the main character in the two Douglas Adams novels not about the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. He is a very clever Private Investigator who manages to save the world by going back in time and ensuring an alien destroys his space ship - thereby creating the spark that starts life on earth. This story seemed familiar to me when I first read it! I later recalled a Dr Who episode where the Doctor goes back in time and stops an alien from fixing his spaceship - causing it to explode which causes life on earth. I wondered about the blatant plagiarism until I found out that episode was written by Douglas Adams!

music with rocks in
One of my favourite Pterry books is "Soul Music". The story is about a boy whose soul was replaced by music. He forms a rock band with a troll and a dwarf. The dwarf plays sax, and the troll plays rocks (drums made of stones)... and when the band is asked what type of music they play the answer is "Music with rocks in"

Ska is pretty much my favourite type of music. I like all forms of Ska, from English Ska (The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat, Madness, Bad Manners) to the original Jamaican Ska (Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, Toots and the Maytals, The Skatalites). I got hooked during the late 70s/early 80s by the energetic off beat and strong political lyrics.

My Gothic side showing here... I have a small collection of replica skulls... one even sits on my screen at work. I have no idea where the fascination comes from - but the sckull motif (from the cheesy skull and crossed bones to early sketches of death) has caught my imagination for as long as I can remember.

Wolfsheim are (were?) a German synthpop band. For a short while I dated a German lass from Köln. One of her favourite hobbies was making compilation tapes for her friends... and during our relationship she tried, with some success, to broaden my music tastes. One of her favourite artists was Wolfsheim who are vaguely Depeche Mode-ish. Her first tape included The Sparrows and the Nightingales and Künstliche Welten - which managed to be a beautiful song even though it's sung in German and I had no idea what it was about.

The solution to - and probably the cause of - all life's problems is ch3ch2oh ... or Ethanol, also called ethyl alcohol, grain alcohol, or drinking alcohol

Current Location: EC2Y 9AQ
Current Mood: quixotic sheepish
Current Music: Mr Blue - Yazoo
