WoW - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
I got to level 61 last night.

I managed to solo a couple of quests and auction a bunch of stuff for 50g or so.  All in all a successful night.

I found an axe with better stat's than my current weapon of choice (a mace) so though I should swap.  Woah! - I should really check my various skill ratings before doing anything foolish like attacking a mob just a level or two beneath me with a new weapon.  my skill level with a one handed mace is about 300+ ... my skill level with the one handed axe was about 50.  I spend quite a few minutes desperately keeping myself alive while I slowly increased my skill rating to someone who can actually hit the target - and not myself!

This prompted me to get my skill levels for all weapon proficiencies up past 300... which is a slow task - and relatively thankless as you are not going to wade into another mod of about your level again (I am not that stupid!) so you end up slaughtering great numbers of much lower level mobs so you get bugger all rewards and no experience for it!

I decided to wander through Gnomeregan as I haven't been there for an age, and as a low level instance I shouldn't take too much damage while I get my various proficiencies to an acceptable level.  It was good fun in the end... I finished off Mekgineer Thermaplugg with my bare hands (even my unarmed skill level is now 300+)

The quest for my Epic Mount is temporarily on hold.  Hopefully we'll get a few interested parties on the weekend and go back to Scholomance and finish off what has become a bit of a nightmare set of quests.  I have also started my own personal quest of getting a set of decent armour.  I will become an effective tank or I will die (many times) trying! :)

Is it tagged/titled WOW because it means 'wow, that's boring'? ;-)

Of course I'm kidding. I was just hoping for more drunken adventure stories from the damnmen in distress. ;-)

Wow... just.... wow...

My poor body hasn't recovered from the last set yet! ;) I am due out with Leon (the pig farmer) this Saturday... so keep an eye out for stories after that! ;)

My wow tag is as much for your information as mine! If you are not a Azeroth-head it does indeed mean "wow, that's boring!" ;p

Re: Wow... just.... wow...

Aww, I was just teasing. I would never presume to tell someone what they can and can't post in their journal. It's just the whole World of WarCrack thing that I can't help making fun of... ;-)

Prior to going out (Hurrah! More damnmen to rescue!) I'd suggest looking at a map of the west end and seeing just how easy it is to get from Holborn to Tottenham Court Road or Trafalgar Square (those meccas of night buses). ;-)

(Why's he a pig farmer?)

Re: Wow... just.... wow...

I'm sticking to Local this time... and if I know I'm going to be out in a certain area I'm usually quite good and find out how I'm going to get home! The trip to the strippers was not planned... and therefore I didn't really have a clue where I was (I only found out I was in Holborn after walking around for 30 minutes trying to get my bearings - d'oh!)

Saturday will be a Romford gig... I'm headed back to the Albert for a karaoke fix and to see Pete again who I haven't seen for far too long.

Leon the Pig Farmer was a film out around about the time I first met Leon... and he has an almost unpronounceable surname - so he got dubbed "The Pig Farmer"... that's just the way things used to work! :)

I have since found out he is also referred to as Leon C. :)

Re: Wow... just.... wow...

Aaaaaahhhhh. Right. Pig Farmer. Poor fella.

Right - something to remember (which I only just remembered)...

Remember where we saw TMBG at the Ass-tor-eye-A! under the big sign that says G-A-Y? Well, the big tall building across from it has written, in giant white letters that can be seen halfway across London, CENTRE POINT. From Holborn station area, I know that you can see the Centre Point sign. Aim for that and you've got Tottenham Court, from there you can easily find Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, and other such night bus meccas. Always look up and aim for the recognisable buildings. :D

(I always carry a little A-Z of the West End around with me.)

Yes yes, too little, too late. Sorry. ;-)

Re: Wow... just.... wow...

You know - my phone allows me to get google maps now? If I wasn't in a state of befuddlement (and shell shock) I would have know that! :) When sober I always look for Centre Point (or the telecom tower) because I used to spend a lot of my time wandering the streets of London getting lost and then finding myself again! :)
