What a weekend... - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
What a weekend...
It started so well.

Misty had an attack of indecision.  There's a sarcastic comment waiting there, but I will resist.  Misty couldn't decide if she wanted to go out Friday night, so she left her change of clothes behind.  Before I managed to leave the house she had changed her mind again, and I had to find the change of clothes she required and bring them to her at lunchtime... which turned into a quick drink after work... which turned into an all nighter at the Rack and then I carried her clothes all the way home again.  It's a good job I love that woman...

Friday night was very enjoyable.  I saw ze Germans win on penalties against the Argies.  I'm not a big Argentinian football fan but it seems I was alone in this, so I took great pleasure cheering every one of those penalty goals in.  For some reason most of my work colleagues left me after that!

The few that remained were the ones I cared about, so no real loss there.  Misty turned up shortly after the German game, and we sat down to watch the Italy v Ukraine game.  This was made difficult by the guys standing in front of us, but Kirsten sorted them out by yelling at them.  She's a lady really... deep down... so I've heard.

During the game we lost a few more people... and eventually it was just four of us, Me and the Missus, Tinker and Little To. (pronounced Toe - geddit?)  We'd had many drinks and I was starting on the spirits: Definitely time to head home!  Misty and I stopped off at a couple of fast food outlets before just making the fast train to Romford.  A black cab completed the trip home in style.

Saturday the Missus left me "home alone" and I saw the worst game of the tournament on my own.  I also had a solo bbq.  I had been shopping to get the cats some food, and pick-up stuff from the dry-cleaners for Misty.  Whilst wondering around the co-op I saw some "bbq steak" on sale (as it was on its "sell-by date") for £1.99  Communing with my inner woman I made the purchase and got some bread rolls and salad stuff.  Dinner had been sorted!  It's not as sad as it sounds to bbq for your self.  Honest.  I'm not trying to convince myself here - oh no.

I was a little disappointed when I got home as the "steak" was in fact wafer thin slices of beef that went from raw to well done in approximately 15 seconds on the bbq.  It was a passable meal, but nothing compared to that I had imagined it to be on the way home.

After the football I was a tad depressed - "sick as a parrot" to use the colloquialism - so I watched a couple of feel good movies and fired up a couple of MMORPG's on the laptop.

EVE has changed considerably since I last logged in.  There was no-one online that I knew and half of my stuff appeared to be missing.  I think some of it might be with my alternate character which now sits on Misty's account... so I'll need to find out what she changed that password to.

I then logged into WOW and tried a bit of grinding... but the laptop was overheating a little and the graphics were very jerky.  About the time I died for the second time I'd had enough, so I quit and watched some more movies.

Sunday was even warmer than Saturday (if that is at all possible) and I did about nothing all day apart from melt slowly on the sofa.  I really don't like hot days.

If you happen to find out what I changed the password to, can you tell me?

There's a "forgotten password" link on the web site, (I'm guessing that will send it to an email address) but I need the email address you used when you set the account up. Any thoughts on that?

Not a clue.

I reactivated my EVE account last month...then cancelled it, I just couldn't get back into it.

FFXI is another story, however.

It might be time for me to give up on it and delete my accounts...
