The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
They think it's all over
Oh my how my head hurts.

Yesterday about a quarter to five I made my way down to the canteen with my bottles of beer.  I managed to snag a chair with a good view of one of the big screens and settled into watch one of the most painful games of football I've seen since last Saturday!

What the hell is wrong with us?  Towards the end of the first half Trinidad and Tobago had two good chances at goal, it was so close to us going in at half time a goal down.  There was a feeling of despair spreading across the room as the half-time nibbles were handed out.  The second half didn't start much better!  It wasn't until a bunch of ballsy substitutions that we looked like we were going to get anything.  There were a couple of unbelievable misses but we were breaking down their defence so a goal was just a matter of time... but time was running out.

When we finally scored (Crouch header 82') the relief in the room was obvious.  The second goal eight minutes later was the icing on the cake!  A rocket of a shot by Gerrard with their keeper having no chance of saving it.

The crowd went wild!

I was feeling good by then, a little tipsy with a major adrenaline buzz.  I headed off to meet Misty at Kings Cross.  Little did I realise we were due to meet in a Pub full of Trinidad & Tobago supporters.  Surprisingly they were in good cheer and the party atmosphere was great.  I drank lots and danced in a pub in London - most surreal!
