I watched half of the first programme. Due to the fact it was Ella's bedtime so i missed half through her crying (demon child) anyway i've watched a few documentaries on the whole Dan Brown *conspiracy theories* I think religion is such a vague but passionate subject (after all isn't the bible just stories passed around and down through generations before being written by man?)
It's just an interesting and thought provoking work of fiction (Da vinci code or maybe i mean the bible ;p) Neverless the fact that it has been such a best seller and caused so much controversy, especially with the catholic church causing such a fuss over it.
Even thou Dan Brown isn't the most literary of writers (Who actually is nowadays?), he has in fact made himself infamous by taking alot of people's ideas about this subject and turning them into a pretty daym good book. I'm just waffling here ;x

Bernard Cornwell does a similar thing with a lot of his books... he takes a well known myth/historical theme and tells a story around it.

My favourites so far have been the Arthur ledgends (The Winter King, The Enemy of God, and Excalibur) and a grail quest series set during the hundred years war (Harlequin, Vagabond, and Heretic). His writing is very good - at least by my judgement! :)
