I need time to make time - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
I need time to make time
I'm watching some weird shit on channel 4 - "UFO's: the hidden evidence"

It started well enough (mostly debunking most UFO sightings) but now we are on to "abductions" - and I have to ask...

WTF would aliens consistently steal the stupid?

I think they are trying to blame the American government for "disinformation" resulting in people making this shit up.. or are they trying to suggest the government are abducting these people?

I have been meaning to update here in an age. I have even started a couple of entries - but ended up shutting down my machine (at work) loosing the entry and forgetting what I was going to journal. It would seem I have no time to tell you what's taking up all my time.

I wish I could say it was all interesting - but mostly it's been a long hard slog. I have been reconciling GL to GL and reconciling reconciliation to reconciliation for the last month or so. Updating a couple of accounts, adjusting a mapping or 12, then repeating the cycle again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

We have a new guy started. Brett - son of a (pig?) farmer, neighbour of Rodger Daltrey, funny bastard extraordinaire! He is supposed to be freeing me of tasks so we can get more done. Next month this may be the case - this month he is a constant drain of time. Don't get me wrong - this is no fault of his - how the hell is anyone supposed to get straight into a job? It's taken me 15 years and more to know what I know - this guy's been here 15 days.

This has resulting in the occasional 12 hour day... and the slightly less occasional 10 hour day. Getting out of work for happy hour, or whinge club was impossible... I haven't turned up to whinge club before 6:45 in 3 weeks.

I have been invited to the pub tomorrow for lunch - and I'm not sure I can make it. There is a sentence I should never have to type.

In other news - it was John Peel day today. How comes it took me until now to find this out? I have trouble believing it's almost been a year since his death... and feel some strange sort of guilt for not knowing about today till the end of it.

Current Mood: drunk drunk

:: hugs you:: I thought I would validate your journal with a hello as it's been so long since you've posted. Don't want you to think you aren't missed around these parts. Keep coming around, when you can!

"WTF would aliens consistently steal the stupid?"

Maybe they're trying to help us: Unnatural deselection. HOW the stupid leave us is of no consequence, it's THAT they do. ;o) ^3s the aliens!

All work and no play makes the Droid a dull bot. Those are my words of wisdom for the day.

Whinge. What is it (cards?) and how does it work?
Who is Mr. Peel and why is his death commemorated?

Just go to the pub for lunch, work will still be there when you get back.

Re: *waves*

Your words of wisdom are always profound!

Whinge - it's a bastardisation of whine. It mean to moan about something. Whinge night is about complaining about work! :)

Mr Peel was perhaps one of the most influential of all (english) DJ's of our time, perhaps ever. If it was not for him and his type the radio would still be playing the same old stuff it did in the late 50's

~Mwah~ ;)
