We joined many of the other office workers from the City Point building, and the workmen from the building sites adjacent to our building. The square was packed, people had to stand in the road and on the pavement on the opposite side of the road.
At twelve there was a tone to let us know the two minutes had started. Buses pulled over, taxis turned off their engines, the city fell silent.
It was moving, and just a tiny bit spooky.
at two minutes past the tone sounded again, and the buses pulled away, the taxis started up, and we made our way back to the office.
