Because Misty and I would seem to be unable to keep the place tidy as we go along, we spent a goodly chunk of Saturday and the first half of Sunday spring cleaning. It is really quite satisfying to have finished such a task. completing the damn thing is another matter altogether!
Jim is looking well. His new lady, Dawn, seems like a good sort. We got to catch up a bit and bore almost everyone about all the madness we have got up to. I vowed to be better at keeping in touch! We charred a variety of animal flesh. The weather played nice. All in all a damn enjoyable event.
Monday Dora, Misty and I went to see the new hitch hikers guide movie. I had read a few bad reviews from big HHGTTG fans so I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised to find it a damn enjoyable movie with enough of a nod to the original story lines (there have already been 3 or more "versions" of the plot) and plenty of new good stuff thrown in that I didn't mind the little gaps so much. It finished just as the first book had finished - everyone was hungry and intending on eating at the Restaurant at the end of the universe. I really want this film to be a success so they can make the sequels. We waited so bloody long for the first one - I don't want to have to wait that long for the next!
The casting was good... I have no gripes with any of the main characters. Marvin was so Marvin - Trillian was perfect.
After a nice day out at the pictures Misty and I returned home and ate dinner in the garden. We'd spotted a fold away table in Sainsbury's to go with our chairs. It was very pleasant and I think we will be doing this again quite a lot... especially as the nights get lighter and warmer.
Well - it's now definitely time to go home.
