Late update about the (extended) weekend. - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
Late update about the (extended) weekend.
Didn't work on Friday. I was not very well... partly because I had a late one on Thursday and drank way too much, but also partly to dodgy food consumed on the way home. Why is it I never learn?

Friday was mostly spent in bed. When we did get up Misty and I decided to watch some of the new DVD's I had purchased that week.

I'd managed to get a copy of Edge of Darkness - an 80's mini drama concerning the cold war and nuclear waste. The last time I saw it I was about 14 or 15... and it scared me. Watching it now losses none of it's original darkness... At 6 hours - it's a bit much to sit through in one go - so I have another 4 episodes to see... just need to arrange some time to see it.

I also got a couple of Discworld DVD's (the only two I think) so we watched Soul Music... and ...

Hawk the Slayer

This is a movie so bad I find it enjoyable. (A common theme of the reviews on IMDB) Much like Krull it is an 80's "Fantasy/Action" film made in the UK with a very low budget. I remember the music the most... which says it all really. Misty was obviously not keen (although against all predictions she actually LIKED Krull!)

Saturday: To the 'rents for Mum's birthday. I think she liked her new toy :) I arranged for them to have broadband installed (today) so I am finally dragging them into the 21st century.

Saturday night we played EVE. This would have been the first time I've played in over a week... almost 2. Misty and I spent the night blowing up pirates.

Sunday saw us at Tescos. We walked back the long way so we could stop at the "Good Intent" on the way. A quick pint (and just a pint!) and off home.

Sunday night I fell asleep in front of the TV watching "Little Nick" and didn't manage to get to bed until gone 2. Last night I got a 3 hour mission just before I planned to quit and so didn't get to bed until gone 2. I was up early (for me) this morning so I could get in for a 9:30 meeting. Right now - I'm shattered... but I'm leaving to go to the pub in a few minutes so all is good.

Current Mood: chipper chipper
Current Music: Wolfsheim - Kein zurueck (classic_remix)

i just finished reading Sorcery. It was good. It was the earliest TP book that I could get my hands on at the public library (cuz I'm cheap like that). I had NO idea that there were film adaptations. er... cartoons, anyway. I'm going to have to check them out.

Hopefully, they won't be as disappointing as the BBCs The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. (which was still good- just... old)

I think our tentative dates for London are Dec26- Jan 5. So sad that we'll miss each other!
There is a whole list of B&Bs that we have to choose from to stay in- (it's inclusive in the air/travel pkg)- perhaps you can help a gal out & tell me which ones are seedy/nicer than the others...? If we go by names... it's kinda hit or miss.

Speaking of bad movies, ever seen any Mystery Science Theater 3000?

I have! It adds a whole new life to otherwise apocryphally bad (Sci-Fi) movies and makes them as funny as hell.

Many a long night spent watching MST3K when I had cable.
