Quite an eventful weekend
The weekend started a little later than usual... I ended up in work until gone 7 on Friday. The bugger of it: I was waiting for a file to copy onto the laptop so I could do some work from home... and I didn't do any in the end. That hour could have been spent in the pub with a few JPM comrades!

After a fabulous stir fry Misty and I watched a couple films. The Wedding Singer was on the telly... and about half way through the lizards "I want money" starts playing... and Misty says how that reminds her of Lucus from Empire records... so of course I had to get the DVD and play it... had to.. of course.

Empire Records is in my top five favourite films of all times... for many reasons... and I'd like to point out for the record that seeing Liv in her smalls is not the number one reason. It has a fantastic soundtrack, some of the best one-liners ("What's with today today?"), and you do get to see Liv in her smalls.

I don't remember how or why we decided to go to Lakeside... but we did.. and Saturday was the day. It wasn't half as bad as I expected it to be - there was a lot of people there - but not too many. We went looking for decorations for our upcoming Halloween party. We found some - but not much that's any good. I think we'll get some for next years party (cos I plan on doing this every year) whilst we are in the states at the end of this year.

And if you are reading this - you are probably invited to the Halloween party. If you don't know the details - ask. If you are not invited - I won't give you the details :)

I did make Misty walk around almost every "boy" store in Lakeside. I am a sucker for gadgets and electrical/light stuff and toys and ... you get the idea. I managed not to purchase everything I wanted (because I'd need thousands in the bank!) but I did get a set of chips for the poker nights I've been promising the boys I'd host. All I need now is 6 foldaway chairs and something to put the "poker table" on... as it hasn't got legs!

Walking around a shopping centre (Mall) for the afternoon sure works up an appetite... so we popped into Pizza Hut. (As with most of our major decision making - this was decided at the toss of an imaginary coin) We had a starter to share which would normally have been enough for a mail course... but as I've said I had worked up an appetite! We also ordered a large pizza as we wanted to take some home for breakfast the next day... disgusting maybe - but we like cold pizza for breakfast!

We was about half way through our pizza (which was dissappearing fast) when our server came over and asked us what we wanted to do with the "other" pizza. After a couple of blank looks she explained they were out of large bases, so they'd done us two mediums! Score!

So rather than cold pizza for breakfast - we had it hot for dinner last night.

Saturday night we listened to the radio and played poker. As this was only about the 5th time Misty has ever played - I won quite convincingly... but Misty really enjoys playing - so no doubt the "poker table" will get a little more use now. The chips are great... just like the real thing!

Sunday we visited the 'rents to celebrate Dad's birthday again (this was his third celebration - even the Queen only has two!) and we took him to the pictures. After the stupid "queue jumping machine" telling us we had no reservations.. and we had to queue to get them from the box office like everyone else, we saw "The village." Damn good film. If you haven't seen it - go.

Sunday evening Misty and I played some more poker. After a shaky start (Misty was up about 50% on me!) I managed to claw my way back. As the chips are not "real money" Misty will occasionally bet just to see what I have. Perhaps we'll have to add a value to the chips. each green is a chore or something - I dunno.

Point of note - at no time did this entry mention EVE ... because I didn't play it once! A whole weekend away from EVE. Eve, oh how I have neglected you.

Oh well - back to the grind stone.

Ha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Like I'm going to make bets in a game I routinely lose for chores I already do! You are damn funny on a Monday, my love. rofl!

Also, the suggestion to go to Lakeside was yours! Friday night, when we were talking about the decorations, you said we should go to Lakeside. I wish I'd recorded it, because I never thought I'd hear you say such a thing. ;D

ahhh - but the thought of winning and making me do said chores would surely be an incentive no?

But if I lose, I'll have to do them anyway, and there won't be a chance of getting you to do them just because you love me.
