A meeting, and the worst hangover of my life. - The Paranoid Android
...musings of a mechanically depressed robot...
A meeting, and the worst hangover of my life.
Last week was a busy at work. My list of projects grows daily, and my work load will be high for the next couple of months. I have been consistently thwarted by our helpdesk in my efforts to gain access to CLIME. Hopefully the enlistment of Sean to help fight my battle against the ineptitude will reap better results.

Of course, the week was overshadowed by the weekend. Saturday, a group of strange folk met up at Victoria Station in the wetherspoons. From there we ventured as far as the Shakespeare (just across the road) where we stayed until we could hardly walk. Unfortunately Minxee wasn't too well, so had to leave early.

Highlights from my alcohol fogged memory of the day include (in chronologicalish order):
Meeting "Colin", "Jules", "Dustin", and "Clare without an I" for the first time.
Seeing La-La and Minx after too long.
Talking MMOG for hours.
Drinking a lot of London Pride.
More sexual innuendo that you can shake anything at ;)
Colin's obsession with the toilet assistant
Turning down sex from a 20 year old student.
Sleeping on the tube on the way home, but never missing my stop.

La-La stayed at ours so she could have a drink, and drive home the next day. We got home about 11ish, maybe 11:30 and I decided that another beer was in order, and sat down to watch a film. La-La sensibly decided on water and sleep.

The following morning I woke up at midday. I felt like total crap. After seeing La-La off I went back upstairs and vegetated in front of the computer. My brain wouldn't work, and my head hurt so bad I thought it was going to explode. I almost wished it would explode so I wouldn't have that pain anymore.

I drank water and it made me feel ill. Mum called about 3:00 and I turned down Sunday dinner. I eventually ate about 5:00 - a couple boiled eggs and some toast. I talked online a little with Misty, but my mind wasn't really on the topic, so sorry dear. I was falling asleep at the computer, so I decided to get to bed early.

Monday found me in a lot better health. Just as well, the jobs are continuing to pile up, I think I have enough to do to last me months. After getting home late, I manage to get some washing done, and Iron myself a shirt. I also cooked some garlic chicken and chips... which was very nice. I am not totally incapable of looking after myself.

Current Mood: busy busy

Tch, poor Lara. I hope you cleared off a human-sized spot on the bed in the guest room & killed the larger animals that bite. Tell her I'm really sorry if the room was a mess, because I'd been using it as a dumping ground for the rest of the house. :/

I made a bit of an effort - and dumped all the stuff in there on the single bed. It almost look tidy after that! :)

Good work, Cap'n! We'll tidy it up a bit when I get back. "A guest room should always look warm and inviting." I saw it on Life Laundry or something like that, so it must be true!

It wouldn't be a good idea to paint in January, would it? :(

Not unless you don't mind freezing your bits off - we'd have to open up all the windows n stuff...

Yeah, that's why I didn't think it'd be a good idea. I dunno. I may just put on a few layers & go for it. Especially if our kitchen is looking all sexy & the living room still looks like a Barbie experiment gone horribly awry.

You can use that breathe easy stuff, really is odour free. And dries quick too :)

And you must be getting old if you turned down sex from a 20-year-old student. I can easily remember a time when you didn't. ;->

Well - you know - things change...

Had I been single I may well have shown less constraint! ... I think I confused her slightly... perhaps I'm the first person who had turned her down. When I said "I'm married" - she replied - "that's ok - I'm engaged."

I believe she may have been so drunk her brain was addled.

All in all - it was an enjoyable evening.
