We are family... Fishy, Newt, Misty and Me.
The week-end, by Paranoid Android aged 13 3/4 million years...

The weekend for me always starts on Friday night. This weekend was no exception. As previously journaled, Woody and Fish left on Friday, and we celebrated their early release in traditional Romford style, we got blind drunk.

The night is a bit of a haze, but I remember the following things (in no particular order).

I described in detail to Kat how I could recognise her walking in front of me.
I travelled all the way home with a giant red star balloon filled with helium tied to the back of my trousers.
I asked the Kernel to flash at me so I could take a picture.

If you give me a camera and enough pints of London Pride I will turn into a budding David Bailey. Sure enough - on Friday I took pictures of just about everyone and everything. I shall be interested to see what gets developed.

I think Woody and Fish had a good night - I shall endeavour to find out when I see Woody tomorrow!

I arrived home on Friday night about 30 minutes later than I had planned to find the missus was still out! I had a quick chat in CompuServe (for the first time in ages) and eventually Misty turned up at about 12:30.

Neither of us was feeling in peak condition Saturday morning, but we got up and got ready and bought some aquatic life for our newly acquired fish tank. Misty got a newt and I found the ugliest fish I could (a pleco - thanks missus!), who is now called Elvis. On the recommendation of the guy in the pet shop we'll wait a week or so before adding some more fish. This gives the tank time to adjust and deal with all the fish waste. Pic's will be sure to follow ... keep watching this space.

Saturday night we went out for food and piss poor music. Food was noodles, and the piss poor music was the karaoke at the Albert. I think I either ate too much, or the beer was of a particularly poor standard, because after a couple of pints I felt bloated and gradually nauseous. We left before closing time and made our way home with me worrying that I'd chuck on the bus.

Sunday I spent most of the day sleeping. I wasn't aware that I was particularly tired, but I slept until about 4 Sunday afternoon. After that I felt great! I found Misty in the garden doing some weeding, bless her cotton socks.

I fired up the trusty BBQ, and we gorged ourselves on chicken and ribs. The rest of the evening we veg'ed in front of the telly, and managed to put a sizeable dent in a 12 year old malt Gareth gave me for helping fix his PC last week.

And now it's Monday again, and all that entails. I have enough work to keep a small country busy, so I best get back to it.

You left out the part about me puking up that 12-year-old malt. :/

I think your fish is called a pleco.

whoo! I love pleco fish. they're so awesome. Not only do they keep the tank relatively algae free, but they can get as big as your tank will let them.

What kind of newt is it? he might need land to come on sometimes.

If you want to "help" your tank along try adding bacteria starter products for tanks. That's why you have to wait to add new fish and why, once you do, you may loose some. The tank has to "cycle" it's bacteria... this can take from 1 - 2 months. Oh and don't worry if it gets cloudy in those two months.. that's normal. it's bacteria growing. It'll go away in a few days.

SOrry.. I know fish tanks pretty well and I love mine, so I get excited about the subject. if you already knew this, sorry! if not hope I added some info for ya.

See, I read your journal.. I just don't comment unless I have something to say.

I like my little fish! Even if he does spend all day sucking the side of the tank! :)

Misty knows what type of newt it is (I think) ... and I'm sure he does need some sort of land (even tho the guy in the shop didn't say so) because he spends a lot of the time at the top of the tank... and so we'll be getting some rocks to make him a bit of land.

At the moment he has a stick to sit on.... so I think he'll be alright.

They guy at the shop explained about the bacteria and all that - he gave us some gravel to help us on our way!... but I know next to nothing about it and am learning as fat as I can.

We'll try another fish or two this weekend... and see how it goes.

No need to apologise about giving me useful information! I'm guessing I could do with all the help I can get.

I am the same way about comments. I read all the posts on my friends page... I think it's because I'm nosy! ;)... but I only comment if I think I can add something. (which is not too often)

:: cackles:: heh, I can relate to that nauseas feeling... noodles,.. beer... riding home. Not a pleasant feeling. I hear they took Kronenbourg (is that spelled correctly??) out of the Albert. Misty says i drank them dry ;)... uhm.. heh. I didnt drink that much!!

Yeah Kronenbourg is speld rite!... and it's true - they haven't got any more in the Albert, so you must have drunk it all! ;)

If I rememeber correctly you only have about 4 ... but that stuff is a bit of a killer if you are used to weaker beers. I wouldn't drink it all night.

So when you coming to visit us next?
