oh sit down... sit down next to me... - James
I've had a couple of very busy days. Yesterday I got a call from the furniture people, my sofas are ready to be delivered. I had already arranged for the tumble drier to be delivered today so I was quite happy to have the sofa delivered too. I had also arranged for a much needed hair cut, and for my sis to drive the last few remaining bits from the 'rents to be transported home.

So last night when I got home and saw the front room full of junk, the airier, the computer table, about 6 weeks mail in piles on the floor, I knew I had to get it all cleared. I put up an away message on AIM, "tuned" into a groovy internet radio station, and set about clearing the front room.

First the computer table needed a home in the office. I took it apart and took it upstairs, but of course there was no room in the office for it. Knowing that Jo was going to be hiring a big van to bring my filing cabernet and the single mattress to me today, I emptied the junk out of the office and put it in the garage. Then I set up the computer table in the office, before clearing the front room. What I hadn't noticed was the internet radio had gone quiet. If I had noticed that I would also have noticed I had managed to switch off the router in the office (one plug looks very much like another - that's my defence) and so my lovely away message was also missing. So instead of my good lady being informed of my absence, she was left wondering where I was. At about 11:30 I was totally knackered and hit the sack.

This morning I was rudely woken up at 7:45! It was the delivery van for the tumble drier. I was the third person on their rounds, and I was according to the wide awake and cheeky driver, the third person they had woken!

After that my sister came and picked me up... I am the only member of my family with a credit card, so I am required to pay the deposit on the van. We got back to my parents just in time for the furniture people to tell me my sofas would arrive in an hour. This was the main tricky part of the morning, as I had arrange to have my hair cut then... and Gary, the hair cutting guy (what a *nice* boy) was running late... but it all worked out fine in the end. I am currently sitting on my lovely new sofa typing this :)

After a little coercion my sister was convinced to ferry some of the crap from this house to the local tip, and dad conned her into moving a couple bits of his too.

By 2:30 it was all done and dusted... and I'm now totally shattered.
