Answers on a postcard...
It's been far to long since I last updated. how many times have I started a post like that? The first correct answer out of the bag gets a prize!

There has been lots of things going on in my little part of the world. There is a certain irony that the more that I have to write about, the less time I have to write it.

I've been very busy at work. I have a couple of new projects on the go. I've also had my appraisal.

At home I have been busy spending a bucket load of money. I've bought a vacuum cleaner and a washing machine. I can now wash my own clothes! Saturday was spent doing domestic chores. I walked to the local Tescos and bought enough food for the week. I also got soap for the machine. I went to pop into the 'rents on the way home... but bumped into Jo going to the shops... and ended up spending more money in Woolies. I bought a spit guard for the frying pan... hopefully that will stop fat getting sprayed all over the cooker.

When I finally got to the 'rents I found a parcel from Jay & Silent Bob. Misty (the sweetheart) had got me a signed copy of Dogma! The special edition no less! She is a sweetheart. I got to see Nan who I haven't seen for a while. Mum and I talked recipes, because I need to start cooking my own meals. Not just heating stuff up - real cooking!

.... and so I cooked spaghetti bolognase Saturday evening. It turned out quite well, even if I say so myself. Shame I made too much sauce, and didn't cook enough pasta! I'll learn (I hope).

Saturday evening was supposed to be spent at the Albert. It was "Karaoke" Pete's birthday last week - so this was going to be his night. When I got to the pub, Jo was already pissed off. There had been a bunch of loudies in there all afternoon, and they were getting worse. So Jo suggested going to another pub for a couple of hours... the *plan* was to get back to the Albert before closing time for a quick song and say happy birthday to Pete. What actually happened was we ended up staying in this little pub out in the middle of nowhere playing darts until about 3 in the morning. I was knackered and wanted desperately to get back home (I had told Misty I'd be home by midnight). But my sister was enjoying herself ... so tough luck on me.

Sunday I woke up very late, just about in time to go to the 'rents for Sunday dinner. After a fantastic meal (my mum's a great cook) I watched an episode of SG1 and then went back home. Back to my chores! I did my laundry! I had nowhere indoors to hang wet washing, and it was very dark outside not to mention freezing cold... but I switched on the security light (which like everything else in the house is broken) and hung my clothes out in the cold.

Monday morning I woke up early enough to get my washing in and get to work on time!

Now wasn't that dull...

Dogma is a great movie. If you ever come to NJ, you have to visit Jay and SIlent Bob's store. It's about 25 minutes away from us.
