can you spell deja vu?
It's late october, I'm just about to travel to the States to see my love, so I get a dose of the 'flu. I'm determinted that it won't progress into anything more serious as it did last year, for a start I don't have the mind numbing aches that accompanied my 'flu symptoms last year, nor the cold sweats.

So the last couple days have been a tad dull. Apart from a quick trip to the house (you knew I had to mention it once!) I've not ventured outside the house all week. I doubt I'll be in work tomorrow so the work peeps will have to have their Friday drinks without me.

I have spent some of my spare time loading a CD database with my CD collection. I have loaded 347 albums to date, with a fair sized stack still left to load. The main problem with the otherwise superbly written software is it relies on people like me to have keyed in the details of their CD's before. I'm fussy about capitalisation, the way track listings should all look alike, and putting extra information like the mix name, or extra credits in the right place. What I consider to be the right place is not what everyone considers it to be, so I need to "clean" the data input. I think this will take me the next 4-5 years to finish, but in the end I will only need to input one CD at a time, when I buy them.

The information is stored in a normal MS Access database, so I can run quries against it, and there'll be a new page on my website for my CD's... Just in case anyone wants to buy me a CD for my birthday, and wonders if I might already have it!

Poorly Man

Hope you are feeling better before you embark on your journey to see the one that you love. Don't worry about covering your work, as it will still be sitting there for when you return as they don't know i even exist anymore. Squeeze Misty's cheak for me when your out there.

BTW, if you want something to occupy yourself, see if you can get the asp to update the database online, if so we won't have to do sodding transfers!!! And i still have the admin money for us to go out and get lashed up on :o) Large.

Have a safe trip & a great Birfday.

I have an idea for a program like the one you mentioned...unfortunately, I don't quite have the skill to write it as of yet...but I'm working on that...I, too, am picky about the way I list the details of my CD collection. What sort of stuff do you like to listen to/want? I'd be glad to help you out if I can :)
