Holy shit on a swizzle stick.... music industry rant again
From technodummy :

Bill would allow hacking of P2P services

Can you spell g.o.b.s.m.a.c.k.e.d.?

Reasons why this has to be the most amazing thing I've read in my short life so far..
1) Contrary to popular (or US government) belief, the internet is NOT under the jurisdiction of US law. Until there is some sort of world court for internet related crimes they should enter into dialogue with the rest of the world about how the internet should be policed.
2) Hacking is illegal. Not sometimes illegal. Not almost always illegal. It's illegal PERIOD. Thats a bit like saying it's ok for me to murder someone if they was doing bad things that affect me. I can't see me getting away with that!
3) Bleeding heart "Media companies" make shitloads of money every year, far more so than the artists they claim to protect... (read this) and now claim that CD sales are down due to *pirating*!! ... If they stopped mass producing crap, and cut the price of CD's to an acceptable level (£10 or so) then I would buy a whole lot more CD's. Instead they produce copy after copy of "best of's" that contain only half of the good stuff, and *fill* with tracks that have never been released before. Why wasn't they released before you might ask?... because they were not *good* enough - thats why!
Most new band signings are of the "pop-shyte" variety, boy/girl bands who have no tallent beyond looking good in the latest fashions, and who have trouble performing live because they are over produced in the studio and they can't sing. I watch a lot of live music (pub/club level) and I've seen a hundred different acts that are more talented than almost anyone who tops the charts today. For a start they can play and sing live!

*I* think the reason people have stopped buying CD's is nothing to do with piracy. They are just fed up with the money grabbing corporations and lackluster quality of the modern "artist"

So lets unite against the machine ... Buy CD's from the source only ... and if your artist doesn't sell direct - tell them to! Tis the age of communication after all!! Lets start a revolution!!!

Also; if you live in America, email your government representative and let them know just how bad passing this bill would be.

Of course... thats just my opinion - I could be wrong :o)

wooo...i totally agree! i've been sayin' that forever...if there's any reason music sales are decreasing, it's because the prices are so fucking outrageous! what a joke....ah, and...
