Aural spectacle?
I have just heard the strangest thing... Erasure released an album of covers (again!) which includes Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill...

... I'll give you time for that to sink in...

... and it's... well... it's... different.

And listening to it again I'm begining to like bits of it... and I'm not sure that's entirely a good thing. Bits of my mind are screaming in protest at the heresy but that deep part that will get me to the dance floor after a few beers without me actually noticing I've moved is liking it quite a lot.

Based on this I have downloaded the album... and the others covers are just as bad different. With a track listing like that below there's sure to be a song there to offend your sensibilities... so I'm going into the shower to sing along to "You've lost that loving feeling" on full volume.

"Hit" list.
1. Solsbury Hill
2. Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime
3. Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)
4. Everyday
5. When Will I See You Again
6. Walking In The Rain
7. True Love Ways
8. Ebb Tide
9. Can't Help Falling In Love
10. You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'
11. Goodnight
12. Video Killed The Radio Star

Crumbs! What a racket (both senses of the word apply here).

Didn't like Solsbury much so tried "You've lost that loving feeling". My oh my. 'Twas 'orrible!! Preferred The Pickets so I did.

LYL's xx
