Old Man Jim
I'm closer to 40 than I am to 30.  Of course I have been for a year now (the day after your 35... the micro-second after if you are going to be pedantic) but I can no longer tick those 30-35 boxes that appear in surveys.

I met Misty for lunch yesterday.  I had the worse beer ever pulled in London, but the meal was great.

Mum and Dad got me a DAB radio.  I've been wanting one of these for a while now.  I can listen to those extra music stations the BBC put out without putting the TV on.  I can listen in the garden or upstairs.  If I want to I can play it through my stereo for added beef... but for a little device it's got quite a bark on it.

Jo got me something to read, something to watch, and something to listen to.  She rocks! :)

After a pub lunch I decided I wanted to go home - so I did! :)

When I got home I my house was a little on the chilly side.  I put this down to the fact the heating is timed and I haven't set it for GMT yet.  I was a little surprised when I saw the temperature was below 16, the "don't let the house freeze" setting should have kicked in by then.  I was even more surprised when I saw the "heating is on" sign.

After a quick check I found the radiators were low on water pressure - and I also found the "top up" tap was not topping them up.  By now the house was about 10 degrees and wearing two jumpers was not helping.

I called the gas people and went to mum's!

After a few hours in the warmth, and pressies!, I headed back to the refrigerator and played wow wrapped in blankets.  Only my nose and hands exposed it was still chilly.

I couldn't take much more so at midnight I headed to bed.  The sheets felt wet and the cats huddled up at my feet for warmth.

Today the boiler guy arrived, but has been unable to fix it - so I'll spend another night frozen!  I have been spoiled, and now I know it.

I never really turn mine off - if it's warm the thermostat doesn't click on! :)

Piss poor timing as well - the coldest two nights of the year so far... I was wearing more clothes in bed last night than I usually wear out! :x

I've been sleeping in a sweater, tshirt, and thick sweatpants. And socks. With my heating pad. ;-)

eheh, it always works like that :P

Last year I didnt have hot water all winter without a little dance routine between me and the now ex, flicking switches and turning taps in a timely manner. I was so relieved when it worked this year *fingers crossed* hope it continues, not sure the parrots can master the controls!

lmao - I can just imagine you trying to train the parrots to flick switch to a voice command!
