Billimore goes
I haven't really updated properly since the beginning of last week.  Last Wednesday during the shit that was BD4 the G-man left work.  He has decided to go travel the world for 7 months or so and then return home to South Africa.  He was a good geezer and he's already missed.

In fine Finance tradition we all piled down the pub after work to see him off.  Many drinks were consumed and much merriment had.  I spent a good portion of the evening talking to "Mash" about his childhood and first jobs.  He's always been a bit of a pain in the arse at work, but he appears to be alright outside of it.  I will try to mock him less in my day to day dealings with him... I'll try but probably fail - after all it's so much fun!

There is a barmaid in the pub that almost all the guys in work like... like a lot really.  She a shortish dark haired French lass (not your stereotypical barmaid hottie) who is pretty with a killer smile.  You need to know this for the next part of the story!

After a couple of hours we were down to the usual suspects.  It was about then I was introduced to one of G's old school/uni(?) friends, Nicole, plus a couple of her work mates.  One of these guys took a bit of a shine to the barmaid mentioned but could not pluck up the courage to speak to her.  Nicole is not the sort of person to shy away from... anything really... and walks up to the bar and just asks the lass outright for her number.

I wish I had a female friend like that when I was younger!

The Gaffer decides G needs one last night in Digress - not my favourite place, but it wasn't my leaving do! - but when we get in there we manage to double the number of people there... and that included the bar staff.  We leave without buying a drink and head back to the Rack.  Big Ade starts buying shorts and shots and I end up drinking tequila.  The whole thing is running downhill and accelerating, so we decide to call it a night.  G is a tad emotional and tells everyone he loves them.  There are "man hugs" all round.

I walk Kathryn back to Liverpool street where we part ways.  I notice there is about 30 minutes until the next train to Barking, so I wander around the station in a drunken daze for a while.

On the train on the way home I start crying.  Actual tears.  I have no idea why - even now - but then I notice that I'm listening to Coldplay's "Fix You" and Chris martin is singing "Tears stream down your face"

I guess the emotion of the night really got to me... and I'm sure I must have freaked the shit out of my fellow passengers.

Thursday was a hell of a day.  It being BD5 and all that jazz coupled with a deep desire to die.  My singing voice was top form - almost everyone commenting that I "looked and sounded like shit"  Drinking on a "School Night" - it never stops being a dumb idea!  I got a sametime from Nicole (who gets in at 7:30 every morning!) who was suffering just as bad as the rest of us.

Friday was a little better, but I still wasn't quite up for a lunchtime drink!

Saturday I saw the 'rents.  Nan was there - it was good to catch up with her as we don't often see each other.  I'm a bad grandchild.  Dad and I watched Serenity - I've got him totally hooked on the Firefly "verse" :) You can't stop the signal!

Sunday has been summarised in my two previous posts, and couple be further summarised by the words "Fucking PC's"

Last night I logged into WoW.  Gareth was online and we hacked and slashed our way through a couple of quests.  I joined a guild which seems friendly and reminds me of the old EVE corporation (ARSE).  I hope it works out as well.

I was chastised for saying G "wimped out" when he logged off before me the previous weekend.  I apologise G! ;)  He logged off before me last night too.  I'm just saying...

As a side note: I really love this song.

Awwww man hugs. Chris is a big fan of the man hug, I believe you received more than a few ;) I also think he initiated the group hugginess after chinese food on the way to the train.

There's nought wrong with a man hug! They just tend to happen a lot more when the men in question are a bit on the squiffy side! :)

Oh my, just wait til they get you into raiding. Everyone will be logging off before you, but the temptations of the next shiny - well, it's highly addictive. :)

Hello dear!! It's been too long. You need to come visit us again.

I can't wait till I get to the point where I can join them in raids. I might have to negotiate nights with Misty :)

Does that mean you want me to bring my computer and show you the raids? LOL

I'm on the American servers and raid between 1:30am and 5am. Not really worker-friendly hours :)

I was going to come surprise you guys for your July 4th celebs but just didn't get up in anywhere near enough time to be social.

I keep up with all your news, views and rants on LJ though.

*hug*

Oh yeah! - bring your PC (I'm kidding!) - although it would be interesting to see the American servers. I bet you don't have the trouble of half your party speaking dutch or Norwegian all the time!

There were two reasons I stuck with the European servers... the other one was I had a couple mates who were already playing on them!

I'm honoured you read us... and I would like to return the honour, but you don't update any more (hint hint) ;)

Re: I'm a billimore

Hello Ms Billimore... I very much doubt we are related - the Billimore in my title is not me but a friend of mine who left my workplace to move back to South Africa where he was born.

There is quite a clan of Billimore's over there - I'll let him know of your comment.

Re: I'm a billimore

Quite amusing this internet thing ... When Googling Billimore came across this conversation about my dear darling cousin Gareth. What a star he is :-) I'm his cuzz - Wendy Hinson (nee Billimore). Glad to hear he had a good last night out!
