A.R.G.H.
Last week (at work) was a damn short one.  This was fabulous, I want to work two days a week all the time!  Friday was BD4 and all that entails.  The button monkeys in Glasgow got the data to us late so the whole process was delayed and everyone got cross.  I worked my arse off to get my files ready in time for me to leave so I could go to the GBBF (again!) with my good lady, Dora and Co.

Friday evening was most enjoyable.  I still had a bunch of Beer Tokens™ left over from Wednesday which had been added to by Big Ade.  there was enough to keep Misty and I in beer all night, plus for the other 6 or so people we were with to have a few free beers!

Saturday started very late... we just about made it to the shops in Elm Park before they closed.  I changed the batteries in the garden lights to see if they work any better.  I planted some lettuce in seed trays - we'll see how well that works out.

Sunday I actually got up before Misty.  This needed to be documented as it so rarely happens.  I washed up every dish in the neighbourhood (which is puzzling as I was sure I did that the day before too... how do we get through so many damn dishes?) and made breakfast... the plan was to bring Misty breakfast in bed.  Unfortunately the plan backfired as Misty had gone into the shower, so I'm sure her breakfast wasn't as nice as it should have been.

We BBQ'd in the evening - Misty made Toasted Stilton Baguettes for the burgers - it was damn tasty.

We watched a metric shit load of films over the weekend.  Misty had sorted a pile and numbered them, I called out random numbers and that is what we watched (for the most part)  Films included: Trainspotting, American Beauty, Ice Age, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Star Trek: Nemisis... there may have been others, I can't remember now!

After the BBQ misty put a bunch of CD's on random play while I played Need for Speed Underground... into the small hours of the morning.  Probably not the smartest of plans considering!

Monday was BD5 - a day I would happily spend in gaol if it meant I didn't have to be in work.  After the bad start on Friday - things got steadily worse throughout the day.

It didn't help matters that the previous six months feeds were being scrutinised and all manner of cock-ups (both mine and others) were being uncovered throughout the day.  The CPP feed wasn't going smoothly either!  There was missing data and people were not getting back to me in a timely fashion.  To top it off the metcollect final draft was due out.  I was in work until gone 20:30.

When I finally got home I was a little wired... so I ended up watching sci-fi on the telly until 03:00 this morning.  I'm currently in a half catatonic state - and I'm trying to get the first run of the next months metcollect out.

There are times when I really hate my job.

Think Misty would mind if I traded you for my husband?

Is he cute, and does he do laundry? :)

Well, he's cute but doesn't do laundry - that's why I need to trade!

oops! that was me replying, of course!

Hrm. If he did laundry, I'd trade for a week or two, just for the variety, but I'm afraid I'm not convinced. ;)

I've done laundry! While you was away I laundered everything in the house that needed it!

Yeah, and I wash the dishes from time to time. But laundry is "my" job and dishes are "your" job, so if I can get someone in who'll do laundry, I can just feed him on paper plates & relax. :)

Paper plates... now there's an idea!

It's an environmentally irresponsible idea, sadly. I vote for just carrying on as normal & letting Scarlet (the cat, not the Demon, although I'm not always 100% sure that these two are mutually exclusive) lick them clean.

I caught her on the kitchen counter this morning... (the cat, not the demon :D )

Cheeky bitch. I may have to leave early tonight & give her a good staring-at.

We almost worked out a fair allocation of household chores... and for a while followed it - but these days the chores get done when they get desperate by the person who happens to realise...

Being male - I often don't realise... but when I do - I'm more than happy to do things like vacuum and wash dishes. I iron to order (Misty's order :D ) and if threatened with starvation I'll prepare food stuffs.
