I married a painted lady...
This weekend was dominated by our trip to the tattoo parlour... but let me start a day earlier.

Friday night Misty was having drinks with some of the people she works with. IIRC (and that's not always the way) this drink was in part a celebration of Colin reaching the grand old age of 25... a whole quarter of a century. How I wish I could be 25 again!

I had decided against getting the tube there (the Circle line is still not working making the journey difficult anyway) and walked instead. The last time I walked to Westminster - I missed and "hit" the river too early. This time I pointed myself a little further to the right and set off. Needless to say I missed again.

I did get to see some more of this beautiful city. I also managed to walk to Shaftesbury Avenue - a complete tourist trap - and probably a mile out of my way. After a quick navigational adjustment I was heading in the right sort of direction and managed to make it to the pub about 30 minutes later than originally planned. I was, unfortunately, covered in sweat and feeling a desperate need for a shower! Even with this slight discomfort it turned out to be a very enjoyable night.

Saturday was the big day. Misty has been talking about this for an age, but recently had taken to planning - investigating an image all that jazz. Friday she had called up an artist in Romford and booked a slot. There was little chance of going back now!

I took advantage of being in Romford to get my eyes tested for the first time in over 3 years. I think it's probably nearer to 5 years... I'm a naughty boy! I went to Optical Express in the hope of getting my glasses then and there... alas I was too late (Misty wanted me there while she got her tattoo for some strange reason). This lead to my rant earlier today.

We shopped a while in Sainsburys for our dinner... a nice rainbow trout which I barbecued, and some salad and potatoes which Misty prepared. It made for a very tasty dinner.

Sunday I woke extremely late partly due to falling asleep in front of the TV again. We popped in to see the parental units, took a trip over the hill for something nice to eat for a late lunch.

Chores were done and topped off with some of the best pizza on the planet.

I managed to get an early night for the first time in an age.

Been a long time...

Hey you! This is Nikki. aka Hev. Stormygirl's daughter. Not sure if you remember me at all, anyway I've come to offer congrats to you & Misty. It's been a few years since I've been around so I've missed everything. I tried trackin'Misty down a few times, and either she didn't get it, or just hates me! Anyway, great too see you both doing so well. Take Care, and tell that wife of yours that I said "Hello"

Re: Been a long time...

Of course I remember... All the old lofters are indelibly printed in my mind!

Thanks... I'll be sure to pass on the congratulations and hello to Misty... (she'll probably read this anyway). She has her own journal - tweezlebum
