Oh sit down, Oh sit down, Oh sit down, Sit down on my new sofa!
A good weekend starts on Friday evening. Misty came and met me from work and we had a quick coffee, a quick shop, and a long Two Towers! That film is fantastic! The battle was awe inspiring. The Ent's were amazing. Go see it!... You've already seen it? Go see it again! :-p

Saturday was a stay in bed day. When we eventually did get up we went shopping (for groceries). Then we tidied, and washed the dinner set we got for Christmas. And Misty rearranged the contents of the cupboards!

Sunday was another late start, but after finding out that Sunday was the last day of sales for DFS, and finding a sofa we really liked on the web site we set off! We took a trip on "the scum bus" and found the DFS and the sofa we'd seen on the website. I liked it, and had I been there alone I'd have bought it... but Misty thought it was a bit small (her and her long legs!) so I agreed to look around a bit. After all - the sofa wasn't going to go anywhere!
After looking at a couple ok sofas, we found this massive (what I thought was black) sofa. It was chunky, it was badarse! It was about twice as expensive as we had planned. But it was fantastic!... I coveted that sofa. I ran through a couple of sums in my head, and worked out I could afford the 3 year payments. We bought it!

After the sofa madness, and a quick stop in Comets, we had a meal and a couple pints in the Spoons, followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Another good film (although not in the same class as Two Towers!). There are similarities in the two films. A great wizard (Dumbledore and Gandalf), an Evil Wizard (Saruman and Voldermort) childlike heroes (Frodo & Sam and Harry, Hermione & Ron.) and the almost comedic good/bad creature (Gollum/Sméagol and Dobby)

I know! I don't do quizzes... but I *seriously* like High Fidelity!

Oh, and I'm the Music God, which I think complements your Data God status perfectly. Now I just need to a) learn to cope with not being the smart one, b) buy a COSBY sweat-ah!, and c) see High Fidelity. ;p

You & your quizzes. <smooooch>

Re:

'kay. After I clean up the massive puddle of grapefruit juice I spilled on the carpet. :( I'm an idiot.

And I'm really not just sitting here letting it soak into the carpet. Just so you know. ;/

You spilled grapefruit juice on our priceless carpet?!?! And I thought that would last us a lifetime!

:-D

I think a quick loan of a vax from the electric shop is in order! ;)

Re:

Well, it didn't stain or nuffin'. I'm trying to rinse it a little so it doesn't stink. Hopefully it'll all work out.

ha! I'm not the only one. I saw similarities in Harry Potter/Two Towers too.... esp golluem/Dobby. Too bad two towers is much older.

(though I don't deny harry potter is ms Rowlings own creation, after reading the books and seeing the names I wonder about her creativity on certain things sometimes. )

It's damn hard to be truely original, almost everything has been done before in one way or another! It would be interesting to know if she was/is a big Tolkien fan.

There is still a freshness about Rowlings books ... and they seem to be getting better and better ... I can't wait for the 5th one to be released!

For free?!.. FANTASTIC!!

I think I shall have to see it again, just to catch the bits I missed the first time round.

Re: Jammy Bast!

I think that's a good idea, as long as I get to go, too. ;)

Re: Jammy Bast!

If you buy/bought the 4-disc DVD Extended Version of LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring, then it contains a cheque for basically any cinema that you can think of (dunno about there in Great Britain, but here in the U.S. this was the case) for any amount to any theater for up to $10.50...so that's how I got to see it for free :) I will, however, be going to see it again as soon as I can
